Hwange National park safari

Hwange National Park occupies 3.4 million acres and is one of Africa's finest havens for wildlife. Often-seen species are lion, large herds of elephant, buffalo, leopard, spotted hyena, giraffe, sable, and blue wildebeest. Jodie is wondering if they will look like the ones in the Lion King, Chris is pretty sure they will look more like the ones in the Ghost and the Darkness. Hopefully we can spot a lion and settle the debate.

Chobe National Park is known for elephants going for their morning drink, sightings of herds of buffalo, and plenty of giraffes. We are looking forward to two days where we get to start each morning with a game drive in an open 4X4. We know the local guide will make sure we have a wonderful experience each day.

The Zambezi Explorer is a modern, luxury solar powered catamaran. We will get to enjoy a cruise on the Zambezi River at sunset, when all the animals come up to the river's edge to grab a drink. Jodie hopes they are conscientious in the boats engine maintenance, but Chris assures her if the engine fails they can throw out an anchor and no one goes over the falls.

Yes, it's a tent, but it's a really nice tent. The Elephant Valley Lodge lies within the Kasane Forest Reserve, between the Chobe National Park and the Matetsi Wildlife Conservancy. Sturdy acacia treas reach high above the camp, forming large canopies of shade above the spacious meru styled tents. The camp is fenced and ensures peace of mind. We will get to drift off to sleep listening to the cacophony of night sounds that abound around a watering hole.
